Lambs Flowers

At Flying Flowers we pride ourselves on working with only the finest local growers, and one of our key partners is Lambs Flowers. Nearly 40 years ago, they started with a small 4.5-acre field in Pinchbeck, near Spalding. Fast forward to today, and it’s a blossoming 11-hectare site producing over 25 million stems a year (that’s a whole lot of flowers!).

Every stem is grown under glass, which means your bouquet is bursting with freshness and quality, straight from Lambs' greenhouses to your vase.

"The British flower growing industry is hugely important; not only to local communities, providing work in rural areas but also for the environment as flowers grown locally don’t need to be transported by aircraft. You also can’t beat the quality of locally grown flowers – which benefits the UK consumer."

A Commitment To Quality & Freshness

Lambs Flowers are expert British Flower Growers, based in the heart of the Lincolnshire Fens. Their commitment to local and sustainable sourcing aligns perfectly with our values. Specialising in both growing and sourcing locally produced flowers, they ensure that every stem delivered is as fresh as it can possibly be.

Innovative & Environmentally Friendly Practices

Lambs Flowers utilize innovative and sustainable methods to minimize their carbon footprint:

  • Irrigation with Harvested Rainwater: All flowers are irrigated using rainwater collected from roof gutters and stored in on-site reservoirs.
  • Biomass Heating System: To provide necessary warmth, they use a biomass heating system, burning end-of-life wooden pallets and fruit packaging, avoiding fossil fuels and harmful emissions.
  • Solar Power Assistance: Solar panels help reduce electricity consumption, especially when cooling the flowers during warmer months.
  • Thermal Screening and Whitewashed Glasshouses: Their glasshouses are equipped with thermal blinds to retain heat during colder months.

Seasonal Variety

Lambs Flowers grow a diverse range of flowers throughout the year. Starting in December and lasting until late April or mid-May, these vibrant blooms mark the beginning of their growing season.

In spring, they also cultivate ranunculus and hyacinths, followed by fragrant stocks in May. As the summer months roll in, a variety of flowers like lisianthus, antirrhinums, and other summer blooms take centre stage. Always innovating, Lambs Flowers constantly trial new crops to expand their offering and keep up with market demand.

Sustainable Sourcing & Ethical Growing

Lambs Flowers takes pride in growing their own blooms and collaborating with local, high-quality flower producers. This approach ensures a sustainable and distinctive style that stands out.

By sourcing many of their flowers from just a few miles away, they reduce environmental impact while supporting local businesses. Their outdoor-grown blooms develop naturally, offering a charming, "perfectly imperfect" beauty.

Next time you choose one of our bouquets, know that it may well feature flowers lovingly nurtured by Lambs Flowers, embodying the best of British floriculture.
